Why Tell Your Story?
So much is happening in the world around us that making any sense of it at all can be quite a process. It's easy to lose your way and get lost in the enormity of life. In the past, when dealing with my life's lessons, I grappled with so much on my own. Astonishingly, I've found I needn't have. We are ALL in the same boat, my friend. Our circumstances may differ. But you and I – we all have a story to tell.
These books, The True Spirit of Cyclone Yasi being the first of a projected series, are designed to highlight how strong we are, individually and collectively, when dealing with life's adversities. How generous, loving and resourceful we can be, even when we are terrified. And how wonderfully resilient is the human spirit.
I hope my books will:
- Support the healing process of the authors of the individual stories and also become their opportunity to inspire millions of readers. For from great devastation and despair arise great knowledge and personal insights. And it's through this knowledge and insight that we gain the strength and resilience to pick up the pieces and begin again.
- Create Awareness - most times people feel everything that can be done is being done and has been done. This is so untrue. The media quickly moves on in search of the next story. But many problems remain. Reminding people especially on the topics that will take a long time to resolve is important for continued support and assistance.
- A lasting legacy - truthful, personal accounts of how, not only our communities but also our countries, cope with some of the most extraordinary circumstances of our time. I hope they will serve to guide our children into their future.
I have made it my mission to help re-unite and re-inspire the world, one book at a time – to make a difference. I'd like to invite you to share your own special story that it may enrich our lives as we grow with you in your struggles and revel in your triumphs. These experiences shape our lives and make us the people we are today.
